Portugal beat Turkey 3-0 in their final Group F match at Euro 2024 to confirm their place in the last 16.

Goals from Bernardo Silva, Bruno Fernandes and an own goal from Samet Akaydin sealed the victory for Portugal

The win also means that Portugal finish top of Group F, ahead of France who beat Germany 2-1 in the other group game.

Portugal will now face the runners-up from Group E in the last 16, while Turkey are eliminated from the tournament.

The game was played in front of a sell-out crowd in Lisbon, and it was Portugal who started the brighter of the two teams.

They took the lead after just 15 minutes when Bernardo Silva scored from close range after a cross from Joao Cancelo.

Turkey grew into the game after that, but they were unable to create any clear-cut chances.

Portugal doubled their lead just before half-time when Bruno Fernandes scored a stunning free-kick.

Turkey never looked like getting back into the game after that, and Portugal made sure of the victory when Akaydin scored an own goal in the 75th minute.

The win means that Portugal have now won their last three games at major tournaments, and they will be confident of going far in the competition.

Turkey, meanwhile, will be disappointed to have exited the tournament at the group stage, but they can take solace in the fact that they played well in patches.
